Mayan Priestess Earrings-Fluorite and Unakite 038

Mayan Priestess Earrings-Fluorite and Unakite 038

These elegant shoulder duster earrings measure 5 3/4" long X 7/8" wide, with hammered long, slender flattened copper dangles suspended from down-pointed chainmaille triangles and luscious green wire-wrapped Fluorite briolettes with hints of purple at the bottom. At the top near the hook I created oxidized pieces of copper shaped to mirror the segment of chainmaille they support, and laid in front are smooth, round Unakite beads of mossy green and clay brown, pulling the whole composition together!

The briolettes are approximately 12 X 16mm, and the Unakite beads are 8mm.

The combination of oxidized at the top and bottom against bright copper in the middle really makes these pop!

They have sterling silver earring hooks so that you get the rich color of the copper in the rest of the earring without the sensitivity! They will come with rubber stoppers to hold them securely on your ears.

These would look especially fantastic on a woman with a long neck!

Vertical Blooming Vine Necklace Number 1-Peridot 035

Vertical Blooming Vine Necklace Number 1-Peridot 035

Layers of interesting sterling wire vines wrap around a central one made from a real vine burned out and leaving a substantial hollowform stalk in this nature-inspired OOAK piece. This is the very first vertical one I've done and it took numerous hours to complete! Each leaf was hand cut from thick sheet sterling, forged to give it a natural shape, textured, filed, annealed, and polished, then painstakingly soldered onto a wire, then attached to the main stalk which contains 4 bezels.

In the bezels I set AAA 5mm Peridot bullet cabs which are a crisp apple green. Their pointiness gives the effect of buds which are about to open.

There is also a small copper flower with a sterling silver stamen through the center of it with a nice ball end.

The leaves have been positioned in a variety of different directions and angles just like they would be on a real vine. One even has those little curls in the vine leading to its base.

The pendant is 4" long, and with a small clip bail it hangs on a thin 24 1/2" diamond-cut curb chain, ending in a sterling bead clasp.

Poseidon's Offering Bracelet 040

Poseidon's Offering Bracelet 040

This nice big-link sterling silver bracelet is bursting with 3 colors of pearls; metallic platinum grey, pink blush Keishi, and deeper bronze Keishi with wonderful flashes of rainbow colors! The color of the bronze pearls is so unique it is hard to fully capture in photos or describe, but seems to shift somewhat depending on the way the light hits it.

It will fit a 6 1/4" wrist snugly and a 5 3/4" - 6" with a little room to spare.

Each link has been crafted by hand and hammered, the oval links given some engraved line texture and a little patina to accent these lines, and the round links more of a flattened bright finish.

The round links are about 13mm outer diameter and the oval links about 16mm X 9mm outer diameter.

This is a very powerful piece and the pearls absolutely glow in the sunlight!

I called it Poseidon's Offering because Poseiden was the Greek God of the Sea, and considered the "Earth Shaker" in control of the earthquakes.

The bracelet evokes strength in which co-exists great awe and beauty, the type which is more than skin deep.

It is amazing what wonderful treasures the ocean unearths from its depths. Pearls are one of the sea's great mysteries and natural surprises. I remember as a child opening molusks in the summertime on Cape Cod. When I found a pearl inside it was such a special treat!

In Mother Earth's Embrace (Necklace) 039

In Mother Earth's Embrace (Necklace) 039

This necklace features a semi-translucent riverstone which I created a beadwoven bezel around in gold, black, and taupe.

Suspended from the bottom of it hangs 9 more little black matte riverstones.

The strand length measures 19" and the length of the focal segment is 4 1/4" long.

The strands include seedbeads, smooth wood, bronze freshwater pearls, black onyx, brass, and black glass beads.

It has a lobsterclaw clasp surrounded by tiny flowered oxidized brass connectors.

This piece is very tribal and sophistocated combined!
