I'm starting off my 52 week project with the first week's theme being Candy. I always end up getting a bunch of candy for Christmas, but this year Alicia got me a bag of one of my all time favorites, rock candy. REally love this stuff, and figured it would make a great photographic subject.
Used multiple light sources for this. First I setup two constant lights to light the background and overexpose it. Then I used an umbrella with a flash, shooting through the umbrella, and placed camera right. It was lowered to just above the candy and to the right to give extra definition to the sugar.
Used Aperture to get the brightness correct, and then Topaz DeNoise and Topaz Detail to sharpen it up.
