Joe McNally's old studio in Dobbs Ferry is amazing. Can yo imagine living in this building? McNally did.

Unfortunately, I couldn't get it all in one shot even with the wide angle. If I wasn't eager to get down to NYC I would have spent more time taking this.

Ingleside Plantation

Stratford Hall

We went down to Stratford Hall, the birthplace of Robert E. Lee, which is on the northern neck of Virginia. It was a pleasant day and it was nice walking around the grounds. Not a particularly remarkable home but interesting nonetheless.

Strobist Bootcamp II Assignment #2

The second assignment is on food. I first tried taking a picture of the blackberry pie Jenn made this weekend but that didn't look that appetizing (my fault not Jenn's) so I switched to my fav, chocolate chip cookies. Homemade and everything.

I would have liked to work on this a bit more. I don't like the black on the sides and I should have put a bounce card to the right to fill those shadows.

But my camera started failing, giving me err 99 constantly so after awhile having both that problem and basic lighting problems, I called it a night.

Strobist: 1 580EXII with a full CTO at 1/16 +0.3 zoomed to 105mm behind and to the left of the subject, shot into a opaque reflector to diffuse the light. A SB80DX at 1/128th behind and below the table pointed at the background with a full CTB, zoomed to 70mm.
