joe's christmas present
i am making a 'fireplace' out of old boxes and newspaper and christmas lights. i don't think it will be done for christmas. i also still have to brainstorm a good way to hang stockings from it.

i ended up using a chisel too, and some long cabinet screws to hold the cabinet to the real studs. it is so much easier to use the mirror now that it's people height!

nothing can be simple.
upon inspection they are not studs and are not holding up anything, and each crossboard is held up only by a single nail on each side. i cannot fathom why they are there. not even the drywall is attached to them, but i can't just pull them out without damaging the wall. looks like it's saw time.
