Bandit's Serious Face

Bandit's Serious Face

Trying to look tough, but he is no guard dog. He typically only barks when he wants something or if there are dogs on television. This photo was taken back during warmer weather.

Family Bible of Gen. Thomas Jonothan "Stonewall" Jackson

Family Bible of Gen. Thomas Jonothan "Stonewall" Jackson

Famed Confederate General (January 21, 1824 – May 10, 1863)
Military historians consider Jackson to be one of the most gifted tactical commanders in the nation's history.

Gen. Jackson's Family Bible is currently on display at the SC Confederate Relic Room and Military Museum in Columbia, SC. It is part of a show depicting religion during the American Civil War. The bible includes inscriptions denoting births, baptisms, marriages and deaths of the Jackson family.

The quality of the photo is deminished by shadows from a glass enclosure. Flash photography is not permitted in the this area of the museum.

They Have Landed

They Have Landed

Of course, this is not really a spaceship, but it sort of reminds me of one. This is a million dollar fountain that serves as the centerpiece of a roundabout at the grand entrance of one of Columbia's largest residential developments. The photo was taken shortly after Christmas, hence, the lights in the trees. The fountain is quite large and impressive.

Museum Painting

Museum Painting

A little editing trickery using one of my old photos (Robert Mills House) and inserting it with a program that gives this museum effect. The folks were provided with the program.
