Port Arthur

Port Arthur

Port Arthur on a still, quiet evening. Quiet apart from penguins calling to each other in front of me, crabs crawling under the rocks below, possums fighting in the trees behind and bats squeeking above.

High voltage idea

High voltage idea

It's amazing what you can achieve with 60,000 volts and an ordinary light bulb. Not sure that the exposure to all that ozone is healthy though.

Very High voltage warning - don't try this at home kids! You risk damaging yourself as well as your equipment if you don't know what you are doing.

Strobist: Elinchrom D-Lite 200 into Softbox with black cardboard over centre directly behind light (1/16 power) triggered by cable to create rimlight. Led torch with snoot illuminating base of bulb from right. Homemade Tesla coil powered by Neon light transformer producing approx 60,000 volts connected directly to bayonet socket. 23 shots taken and merged to increase the plasma effect.
