It's pretty obvious who's running that show, and it's not the older ones.

I like these really old photos, before the people got the hang of grinning inanely at the camera. Littlest seems to have caught on that you at least look at it.

What I can see here is 3 girls aged somewhere between 10 and 15. They are so thin it would be almost a cause for concern these days, though I can remember children that slender from my youth. I don't see many these days though. I also see hair that has not been washed in a week or so. All three have hair slicked down with grease. I'm not sure what the eldest has done to hers. I suppose it's curled under, or back in a bun. Not a good look at all!

Their dresses are lovely, probably hand sewn, all from the same basic pattern. I'm not sure if the sleeves would have let down as they grew older or maybe they came out for summer wear. Littlest has pin tucks, fairly large ones, down the front of her bodice and Middly has a great fold of fabric across her chest, presumably for the same reason.

To take a photo back then people had to stand still for long periods of time, smiling got tiring. It's not like today where shutter speed is fractions of a second. They had to use longer exposures.

I see the mother figure and youngest girl as looking a little arrogant as the oldest girl looks a bit downtrodden.

I think the one in the dark dress is the mother. For one thing, adults tended to dress more soberly. The 2 girls definitely look like sisters. I think the book the mother is holding is a Bible.

Great photo. BTW, for those of you who wonder about the lack of smiles, in those days exposure time was very, very long. People had to sit very still and could not hold a natural looking smile for the time required for the exposure. Thus, the serious expressions.

This picture is the cover of a cd I own
by some industrial/electro group.
I believe the girl on the far left
is cropped/edited out though.

This photo is dramatic but mellow, with subjects projecting their own expresions. I love sepia, and black and white, particularly from aged photos. Nice job !!!

The group is called Scorn.
This image is the cover for their cd Evanescence.
The inside sleeve
gives the name of the woman who did the cover
but I'm sure they don't mean she took this picture at all.
The inside also has another old hand-tinted photo.
There is no production/copyright date inside
but I've had the cd I'd say at least ten years or more.
Silver Rain Fell, Automata, and The End
are the best songs on the disc.
