Paul.

We did try to tell ifido [ www.flickr.com/people/ifido/ ] that his chips were on their way, and that this flower was only a table decoration !

Curvaceous Teapot.

Curvaceous Teapot.

Photographers out for the day also need sustenance - although I suspect that the staff, and other customers in a Ballycastle restaurant were taken aback to see their everyday utensils being subjected to such scrutiny !

A second picture from my great North Coast day out with ifido, rodneyharrison 1966 and carrie coast.

Murlough Bay.

Murlough Bay.

Picture taken during a windswept and rather dull - at least so far as the weather went : the craic was good ! - day along the North Coast with ifido [ www.flickr.com/people/ifido/ ] rodneyharrison1966 [ www.flickr.com/people/22246849@N02/ ] and carrie coast [ www.flickr.com/people/carrie_coast/ ].

Murlough Bay is known for its outstanding beauty due to its remote location. To reach it, we had to drive down a steep narrow lane [ glimpses of which my be seen in my picture ] to reach sea level. The only sign of life were a few sheep startled by our intrusion into their domain.

This Bay was one of Sir Roger Casement's [ 1864 - 1916 ] favourite locations. He visited it frequently while staying with relatives near Ballycastle. He refers to the old church ruin of Drumnakill in a letter to his cousin Gertrude Bannister, while awaiting execution in Pentonville prison. Casement was tried and convicted in London for treason, sabotage and espionage against the Crown and hung in Pentonville prison on August 3rd, 1916 after losing his appeal.

Belfast sunset

Belfast sunset

Last glimpse of a welcome mid-January sun as it set over Belfast. My wife and son had dragged me out for a reluctant Saturday afternoon walk along the Southern shore of Belfast Lough. This was taken as we headed back to where the car was parked, at Seapark, Holywood.

Pathway to 2012 ?

Pathway to 2012 ?

THE PATH CALLED LIFE.

The Path of life can be long or short
And for each of us is different.
For some it is straight and level
While for others it is windy and steep
But for most, it is neither
And yet, somehow, it is both.

And Many side trails branch off from
Or cross, or even join it for a ways,
And then the path grows wider
Wide enough for two or more to walk
Along side by side, sharing, caring,
Experiencing the new but ever old,
Seeing the same things perhaps in a
Different light yet enjoying them together
On this, The path of life.

Thus our paths joined for a while and
We laughed and played and grew Older.
During those brief times, our path was
Crossed by others, and joined also
And together we saw beauty,
Overcame fears and built new bridges.
Thus flows the path of life.

Now our paths part as is natural and
They may or may not cross again
At some juncture in time or place.
But I will remember when our
Paths did meet and were as one,
And will keep those times and places
Within me, and I will miss you.

[ Keith Roger Sherer ( b. 1935 ) ]

This is to wish all my Flickr friends an contacts a pathway through 2012 filled with helpful encounters. Thank you to everyone who took time to view, and comment on, my pictures during 2011.
