Aiguilles Blaitiere and Ciseaux

Aiguilles Blaitiere and Ciseaux by firechick.
Alpenglow at it's strongest 6:03pm (compare it to the shot from 5 minutes prior in my stream to see how fast the phenomenon changes!)

I could have killed myself tonight for not having my camera on the most incredible sunset colors ever... Well it was a good hr after but the colors were more stunning than ever.

I like how the shadow is reaching for the peaks, almost trying to sneak up on them. Turns a nice alpenglow picture into a striking image.

Yeah Jen - it is amazing how fast the colors change at that time of day - see the other similar photo where the light is totally different. Definitely was happy I noticed what the sky was doing this eve.

Yeah - I find that the late Fall is the peak for this effect to happen around here - also coinciding with the lowest tourism to the area, so I think fewer people ever get to see how amazing this can look.
