And yes, I walked away. No blood, no broken bones. My gear was totaled but I wasn't. Ride smart, kids! Fifteen years of daily two wheel riding and this is the first serious accident I've ever had.

*s* Thank you, picgerl. I'm fine, a tiny bit sore once in a while but otherwise right as rain. Heartbreaking? Oh yes. Every time I see a bike out and about and it's NOT me it just tears at me.

Timo, I did. *g* I often brag that I wear almost $2000 in safety gear every time I set ass on that bike, $500 of which goes into my Arai Quantum helmet. And yes, I think it would have--I hit head and shoulders first, on my back. I'd probably have had a concussion if I'd been bare-skulled. Not the kid!

I heard that from a cop friend of mine the first year I started riding, fifteen years ago. *g* I'm glad it took that long for my moment down to come. Keep your eyes open, ride defensive and keep the shiny side up!
