      holycow! I missed something all of these are awesome. Appeals to both the artistic and math/science sides... you've mixed them! Not to mention being extremely jealous of whatever piece of machinery you have obtained to help in your creations.

      i had to come back and view this one again! i have nightmares about stair structures like this. :D

      so i'm trying to figure out the construction technique -- it appears to be "slices" along what I would call the x-z plane (if x-y is the table), each the depth of a stair tread, right? (or a third or fourth of tread width, when running along other axis) looks like about 32 such slices total? was it then hand glued?

      Yes Dave, that's precisely it. There are actually two different pieces here, just pushed up next to each other for the photo. I hope to publish soon the algorithm that generates the cut patterns.
