I've run the complete gamut this morning...from looking through the archives for something to post, to going outside and shooting some new stuff. Lucky for me, it was a beautiful morning outside, with lots of dew sparkling in the morning sun...^+^

Methinks we're going to have a VERY early Spring here in Louisiana!

Overcast and dreary outside, but there's still hidden spots of color in the yard...^+^

it was waiting for me...

it was waiting for me...

The sky looked promising for another sweet sunset, but I couldn't make up my mind about where to go try for a shot. Well, I jumped in the truck and started driving towards the river, just hoping that I would run across an unknown spot. I ended up on Old Hwy 61, headed for Baton Rouge, feeling like I was wasting my time (the sunset turned out to be pretty much of a flop), when I spotted this abandoned little house sitting just off the road. "OK", I thought..."This is what I was supposed to find."

A shot from last March, on the bank of the Mississippi River. You can see the remnants of an early morning fog on the river in the background. Just a simple Louisiana scene.

Have a great Sunday, folks!

Elvis is in the house

Elvis is in the house

I took a trip to the zoo a while back, but was lacking any real inspiration for taking photos. For me, it's a little depressing to see all those wonderful creatures caged like that.

However, as I was walking my way out of the zoo, the head keeper of the birds section saw me taking some shots of this strange looking bird through the fence. He stopped and talked with me a while, and then asked if I would like a more unobstructed view. "Sure!", I said.

I couldn't believe that he actually opened the gate and let me go inside with the birds! Sometimes, it pays to go on an off-day, when there are no crowds!...^+^

Now, if I had only jotted down what kind of bird this was...{=P
