It's always great to run across one these trees in the winter woods, for an unexpected splash of winter color!

While Japanese Magnolias are blooming all over Baton Rouge, I'm still waiting. It's surprising how much difference being 15 miles to the north can make!

Bloom, hibernate, bloom, hibernate, bloom...my poor plants are sooooo confused...}=P That's a combination of dead leaves and fresh blooms you see on this backlit shrub.
