Threshold HDR (Simple HDR) TestHaloing around the buildings due to blurring of threshold mask Amazing amount of detail recovered from the clouds with no loss of quality! These bits used to be black! Don't ask me how it works, it just does!
![]() Read about another method of compensating badly exposed pictures and achieving an almost 'HDR' effect. Make a layer, add a threshold layer to that, invert, blur and select 'soft light' from layer properties. Fiddle and adjust. Works a lot better than the 'highlight/shadow' tool in CS2- hardly any noise and you recover a lot more tonal information. Although this early attempt shows the dreaded 'halo' effect... need a lot more manual tweaking in future... though not bad considering the foreground was almost *black* in the original!
