Filming locations for the movie MadMax II - The Road Warrior 1981 included parts of Broken Hill and Silverton
A replica of Mad Max's V8 Interceptor is parked outside the Silverton Pub.
The original Interceptor was created using a 1973 Ford XB GT Falcon Hardtop (XB GT Falcon Coupe) as the base vehicle.

Normally there are many care parked to either side of this vehicle. So I decided to head out again well before sunrise. Well, there was still a 4WD to the right....bugger.

I have helped some stars a little bit to make them a bit brighter....ok

Sensational shot - the rich colour in the sky is magnificent. And I think it helps that the stars were helped =)

My favorite movie when I was a teenager; even went on a hitch-hiking tour around Australia when I was 18 and posed in front of the Silverton Hotel... Beautiful shot that brings back wonderful memories; thanks!

This is too cool. Mad max is such a cult film so to see the car in the setting with the stars out is great, thanks for sharing.

Love it....looks dead creepy, like a scene from one of those scarey outback movies where back packers go missing. Recently watched Wolf Creek ( top of my fave films list now) with Wiffsmiff23, and it all happened in the area we spent our week in the outback....good job we didnt watch it before we went is all I can say, or we never would have gone, especially as the guy has never been caught! :~@
