collard greens

mom and i prepared this year's thanksgiving meal. her collards were tasty and i love that it had texture. it wasn't over cooked or mushy, and she didn't use lot of bacon either. it was definitely one of my favorite dishes.

mmmm....collards! i didn't like them as a kid but love them now and your mom made them like i like them...i don't like them mushy either. lucky you!

there were a lot of foods i didn't like when i was a kid but i don't think collards was one of them. it was probably because my dad used to cook them the old fashion way with ham hocks or neck bones. it was SO good back then, especially with cornbread. :)
