Portable Minimalist Strobist Solution

Portable Minimalist Strobist Solution

This stuff fits easily in my camera rucksack, the tripod is tied to the side. The umbrella is both - rainshield and diffusor. For the 2nd usage, I tape it to the tripod.

Gotham City

Gotham City

Shot with Alex' great 17-40L -- thanks for borrowing, great lens, well, like all L lenses, right?!

Btw.: I switched to ISO 200 to get a shorter exposure time, it was incredibly windy on that tower ... to compensate, I used long exposure noise reduction.

Postprocessing: Subtle pseudo-HDR processing out of one raw file, color temp shifting in Photomatix for a cooler toning, ... in Photoshop: subtle denoising, sharpening, contrast enhancement, slightest edge blurring.

Battle on Wallstreet

Battle on Wallstreet

Strobist: We put a pink-gelled flash on the ground... Quite extreme adjustments: ISO 1000, 1/15 second, direct flash on full power.

No, not actually shot on Wallstreet, but in Frankfurt, in the rain and in the dark.

Nicer, sharper viewing: View On Black.
