Old Gay Activist -- my shot published in Fotolog Book !

i finally saw the book, and i love the context for my foto. i'd been uneasy about how it might be used, but it's in a wonderful collage of creative protest and expression pictures.

it's an inspiring book for our whole photoblogging revolution. lots of the people who contributed are on flickr too, or have moved over here.

here's a review of the book, from the telegraph in the uk.

this was a few years back at the castro street fair, in san francisco. 2003 i think... the camera exif data is wrong (the older camera).

heh! (i think hers is a well-weathered face in repose after a long day of talking with people, to be serious for a sec.)

as i remember, this booth was sponsored by an organization of supportive relatives of gay people. They had advice on the issues of coming out to your family, or of accepting the news that a family member is gay. so she may be a lesbian or she may be a parent/grandparent/sister of a gay person who is dedicated to helping family members in that situation. no way to know, but you know her life has been interesting.
