GMC Truck

GMC Truck

This is my first post in 2012. So I wish everyone a happy new year! I've been away for a while now and I will be not able to post on a regular basis in the near future but I hope things will be better sometime.
I took this shot of a 1954 GMC truck in Chinese Camp, California which lies in the grassy foothills of the Sierra Nevada near the southern end of California's Gold Country. Hit 'L' to view large on black

Cable Car

Cable Car

I wish all visitors a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year for you and your loved ones!

The San Francisco cable car system is the world's last permanently operational manually operated cable car system, in the US sense of a tramway whose cars are pulled along by cables embedded in the street. It is the only transportation system listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and the only moving National Monument. Hit 'L' to view large on black

Panorama of Heceta Head Light

Panorama of Heceta Head Light

Here is anoter shot of Heceta Head Lighthouse. This is a 3 HDR shot Vertorama. In 1892, a crew of 56 constructed the light. Because of the site's seclusion, building materials were either shipped in if the weather and tide permitted, or brought from Florence by wagon, the latter usually taking four or five hours. Stones were brought from the Clackamas River and bricks came from San Francisco. Completed in August 1893, the entire project cost $80,000. Hit 'L' to view large on black
