Think different.

Think different: it is not a red apple on a white background: it is a white background surrounding a red apple!

Did you ever notice that one side of the apple is always bigger than the other? Why do you suppose that is? Maybe it's the side nearest the sun, from whence comes all of that important energy. Or maybe the side nearest the tree, whence comes that nourishing sap. Perhaps we could "think different" about it: not "what makes the bigger side bigger", but "what makes the smaller side, smaller"? Maybe the weight of the apple pulls unevenly on the stem, squeezing off the vascular tissue ever so slightly, resulting in dwarfism on that side of the apple. In that case, the larger and more robust the apple, the more lop-sided.
Maybe an apple is just too much for me to think about. I would rather eat it...

Fat Bear, apples always gives good ideas, told Isaac Newton...
I think symmetry is just a brainchild, something existing only in our thoughts.
Reality is always asymmetric, even if perfectly balanced.
I'm writing a book (the draft title is "Digital reality, analogic fantasy" - I hope it will go beyond the draft state, but I'm busier than Greek philosophers) tracing the relationship between numbering and thinking since Pythagoras of Samos theories, and it often happens to me to use apples as samples.
Maybe the unconscious tie bewteen apple and bit is very strong...

I've seen apples that are equally big on both or all sides. But then again, perfection is boring, isn't it? :)

I riflessi li ho usati per cercare di dare un po' di tridimensionalità... altrimenti sarebbe stata un po' piatta.
