Beautiful. I've started building my own on and off for years and never finished. It's heart warming to see someone that has actually built their own Banana Jr. 6000.

I've wanted to do build one of these for years as I have several of the original Mac 512's and Mac Pluses. One question...what material did you use for the legs? It looks like rubber "bellows" material, but where did you get it (or what was its original purpose)?

Just a guess, but it looks like the plastic boot from a stick shift. You could find something similar at an auto-parts store.

This completely brightened my day! :)
Not very many people I interact with would get the reference so it is very nice to know that there are others in the world who do!

LOL, thanks for the comments guys, the legs are indeed stick shift boots from the autoparts store. I've actually had him for 3 or 4 years, but just found a deal on a screen for him, up until now he just had a piece of paper taped into the screen area with the banana logo printed on it.
I'm really glad so many people get it, i figured i was the only one :)

GORBECHEV SINGS TRACTORS: TURNIP! BUTTOCKS!

thanks for all the great comments guys, its kinda strange he's just been sitting on a shelf for a couple of years faithfully serving up my files for me...i dont know if he can take all of the attention after all of these years out of the limelight. I'll have to keep an eye on him and hope he doesnt get up to all his old hacking tricks. i dont want him to be seized by the FBI again.

That....is....amazing. I'd love to know what went into it to try and duplicate it--thrift stores often have old computers for next to nothing, you know.

standard krylon, i tried that krylon fusion for plastics...it sucked, so the standard krylon over the original finish, worked great, doesnt seem to affect the plastic at all that i can tell
