This morning, I took Charlie to get Valentine's for his classmates (they're celebrating Valentine's Day with Mardi Gras on Tuesday, because Valentine's falls during Lent this year and so many kids give up candy for Lent). Then we went to the bookstore and had coffee and a scone, and talked about Very Important Things like how old I was when Charlie was born and how old I will be on my birthday and how old Daddy will be on HIS birthday.

And Charlie insisted that we have a "French toast" which is what he calls it when we clink our glasses together and say CHEERS! Or SALUT, since it's a FRENCH toast.
