U.S. Army SSG Chris Slaughter, 75th Medical Company, 168th Battalion, 65th Medical Brigade, Camp Hovey, Republic of Korea, wipes sweat from his forehead during a demonstration on how to evaluate and treat a wounded soldier on 1 May 2009 at the Story Live Fire Range Complex, close to the border with North Korea, during the training phase for candidates trying out for the Expert Field Medical Badge. U.S Army personnel from all around the Peninsula trained for 5 days prior to the validation phase between 3 May and 8 May.

On 12 May 2009, a U.S. Army soldier candidate for the Expert Field Medical Badge, from the Second Infantry Division, Camp Hovey, Republic of Korea, puts back on his M-40 Protective Mask after he decontaminated his face with his M-291 Skin Decon kit during the Nuclear, Biological and Chemical training phase at the Story Live Fire Range Complex, Republic of Korea, close from the Demilitarized Zone. Soldiers from all around the Korean Peninsula took part in the "EFMB on the DMZ 2009" to train and test their field medical skills to earn their EFMB badge.

In January 2006, the Joint POW/MIA Accounting Command based in Hawaii, sent recovery teams to the Laos People Democratic Republic to recover remains of Missing in Action personnel during the Vietnam conflict.
On site 0967, during the 06-2L mission, a local female workers helps to clear the site prior to the beginning of the excavation operation.
