The joy of late winter is trees that flower before their leaves. And there's a little piece of that joy in my neglected back yard, in the perfect spot for admiring from the kitchen sink (if we had one). Bees were out today and I had the windows open letting fresh air into the house for the first time this year; it suddenly feels all spring-like.

These lighter days are showing my cobwebs.

“Stone On Stone” is a stop-motion video animation that uses the architectural language of High Gothic and Modernism to invent a contradictory history of their evolvement. The theme starts and finishes with the vast and unfinished Cathedral Church of Saint John the Divine, NYC. It is contrasted with Le Corbusier’s La Tourette monastery in France, competed in 1960. The video uses this anomalous but single-minded architectural vision as the foundation for a new emergence of Gothic religious expression, resulting in a complete and unified fantasy cathedral – akin to the building that the Church of Saint John might have aspired to be.

Took it upon myself to become personal shopper to Chris who has just one pair of trousers (and is perfectly happy with the situation). I may well have doubled this number by the end of the week. This led me into the ladieswear department and I ended up with a dress for me too. What a shame :-) Thus, the hastily snapped view in the changing room.
