cowboys: great-grandpa joe in 1917

cowboys: great-grandpa joe in 1917 by freeparking.
This was glued into a photo album, and it's very damaged looking. Great-Grandpa Joe is the guy on the left, the guy you can barely see. I don't know who the other man is. 1917.

Here is what I may be able to add about this. When grandpa Joe registered for the draft for World War One he was living in Lovington, Chaves County, New Mexico coincidently there was a U.L.Whiteley b.3 Mar 1893 who registered for the draft also living in Chaves County, New Mexico except in the town of McDonald.

Amazing information again. You're a treasure seeker! The U.L. guy had to be family of some sort, you'd think.

U.L.Whiteley died in California 26 July 1960.Mothers maiden name Riggs. I can see U.L.Whiteley as a son in the household of John and Lou Whiteley in Fisher ,Texas.John's occupation well driller.Upon further investigation John R. Whiteley(m.Eliza Lou Riggs) and Jacob Henderson Whiteley (m. Harriet Riggs)were brothers and their sons Joel and U.L. were first cousins it appears now.

That's very detailed info, and it does makes sense. Cousins. Off to the war. Well, you cleared up my other "wondering" about if the U.L. survived the war, which he clearly did. Thanks again!
