Very cool. A few mistakes still (spelling of "its" instead of "it’s", en-dash instead of hyphen after Second Life, no ligatures in "office"), but very entertaining and a great approach at learning how a typeface feels.

For this exercise, you could have just bought one weight for $29.

Great work! The one weight you’d use costs much less money, like Erik said as well … ;)

It's very funny, you have a lot of patience to do it by hand.

Jürgen - karaoke requires music and singing, no? That makes for a nice contest. Write music to go with these lyrics and perform it for a free FontBook.

This is great. I think it serves as a nice exercise. Sure a single weight could've been licensed for $29, but imagine how much was learned, how much is appreciated!

Stewf: Karaoke (カラオケ) from Japanese kara(空), "empty," and ōkesutora, "orchestra", lit. "EmptyOrchestra") is a form of entertainment in which amateur singers sing along with recorded music. Font Karaoke is a form of type design in which amateur designers draw letters after a professional template.

That's the OpenType font. The one I assume Erik referenced is FF Meta Book in legacy formats. But he was a few dollars off. It's $44 or AUS$71.
