Taking a short break from grubbing and sitting in the icy cold water for a couple of minutes was all this critter needed before he was off again. When he left Windy Creek he wandered along beside the road through a brushy area where a cow moose was browsing. When the bear got within fifty feet of the moose, the moose was very quick to leave the area. I found it interesting that in spite of it's size, the moose was the one who backed away. I saw the same thing happen the following day, this time it was a bull moose that trotted away.
