Vortex

Walked by this impressive flower. Not only were its petals green, which is unusual, but buds grew out of other buds in this unusual radiating way.

It's almost may, and there's still enough snow on the lower slopes of Mount Rainier to completely cover the National Park HQ bathrooms.

test piece

I was testing cobalt blue enamels on a white enamel background. I wanted to see which paintbrushes made the thinnest lines and the nicest gradiations.

I like the pale aqua and the pale rose hues in these lichen. Sometimes extremely pale colors can be fascinating if we bother to pay attention to them.
