That Perfect Time of Day

Peering out of my hotel window at dawn.
The sun was inching its way up the sky,
slowly extending its fingers of light downwards onto the desert below.
It's light illuminating each finger-like cactus as if to awaken each one to the new day.
Catch this moment
before it's gone.

TucsonDesert-Gazing into the Sunset

The shape of this old cactus reminded me of an elderly person gazing into the sunset. It's as if this old fellow has seen many a sunset. I'll bet if it could talk it would have many stories to tell of its life in the desert.
