It's one of those dilemmas - should you shoot 4X5 and crop or use a 6X12 Roll film back for panoramas. The obvious benefit of shooting roll film is the cost - it is cheaper especially when shooting color, B&W I don't think there is that much difference. I shot the above scene on 4X5 film but cropped the film to 6X12 aspect ratio to fit my scanner. The enlarger that I currently have does not allow anything bigger than a 6X6 so no chance of a darkroom print until I get my D5 setup. I scanned the above in 2 steps and use PS to stitch them together. Unfortunately since I am not a Pro - there is no large view to see the resolution power of LF format negative. You can read the signs and names on the building.
