My first impression is that this is a rendering done by hand. Something you might have seen from a rendering book form the 70's. The architecture is very modern along the vein of Mies.

Great architectural shot, ...the building appears to be growing in front of your eyes!

Not sure I like the halos from the USM or HDR... Why do you think you over-did the shift? It actually looks rather good - quite normal to my eyes, unlike those top-heavy things you see in many architecture books. BTW, what shift lens did you use & what camera?

Thanks afw

CBN - I agree about the halo's - unfortunate side effect of hdr. I pushed the shift lens to the limit and there is a slight mushrooming effect at the top of the tower. Camera is Canon 5d with a canon 24mm ts-e 3.5 shift.

The 24L ts-e is a nice lens, even if a little too narrow for interiors. Works a treat on standing monuments :-) Have you played with the tilt much?

Andy,
This and the "Saint Mark's Chadderton, Lancashire UK" shot, next to it in your photostream, appeal to my architectural eye -- both tough shots, well done, without benefits of a view camera (or so I presume), given their verticality. You used a tilt-shift lens on the St. Mark's shot (essentially the same effect as rising front on the view camera). Nice work -- Faves, both of them.
