Sundown at Rivendell

I love these mountains!

Sundown at Grand Teton National Park. I recommend to view this large on black.

This image is a digitally-enhanced composite of a five frame HDR and portions of two of the frames used to make the HDR (mostly sky and some of the reflection). I've also removed a small portion of road on the middle right.

In the past when I posted from this series someone commented that they felt it was almost prehistoric in feel. So tonight I went for broke to reach Jurassic Park, and maybe it's just the coffee and beer, but I feel I've ended up in Middle-Earth. ;-)

I'd go for Jurassic Park myself. Looks like a scene from the Carboniferous period. Where's the Brontosaurus? Actually, at first, I thought it looked like a painting, but when viewed larger, it has that magical light quality. The "verdant green" thing that happens for those critical 15 minutes or so in the evening. Way to go in capturing that! Tall order, but the HDR really works!

I think I'm swaying towards the Jurassic Park feel, more than the LotR feel. The reflections seem a bit too literal to me, but that might just be because of the framing effect of the pond's "shore" (?), too. Do ponds have shores? lol
