The Pond

The Pond

Worked on this for about a solid hour. It was a lot of fun. This is not an HDR. I used Tonal Contrast for the HDR like detail in the tree and in the snow circle there, and a ton of small control points to black out the foliage. Also, colorized the sky. It was much greener at first but i had to give it back its blue.

Software used: Viveza 1, Color Efex Pro, Aperture.

NIK Software has the absolute best software out there for this stuff. Selective photo editing. Take any tiny portion of this photo and apply any effect you've ever heard of to it for shits and giggles.

I had a blast learning how to use Color Efex and Viveza.. So i dont really care if its too much :)

P.S. Fellow Flickr Members...
Due to life hardships.. I have to put photography aside for awhile once again...
Fucking sucks.. See you as soon as i can. We had a good 2nd run though... :(

Aggrivation.

Aggrivation.

Getting aggrivated with photography right now. Seems like none of the photos i take, i even like, or just dont come out how i imagine them to be.

They have potential, sure.. But my editing sucks i guess. I screw up all my HDR's kinda.. Im about to go back to regular bland boring photos. Ugh.

i really wanna know what exactly everyone thinks of this photo. digg out every detail that should be changed and what i should do next time.

Robert Ross HDR

Robert Ross HDR

30s, f/3.5, ISO 400

Took 3 shots (HDR so.. about 15 shots) and only this one made it. The rest weren't in focus because it was way too dark. This one.. I had a friend hold my cell phone light up to it so that i could get a quick focus on it and then he walked away.

I had to make him look really monumental so i chose this effect so the light behind the monument shot out at you. Unfortunately that meant getting some extra grain up in the sky.

Monument Description - Monument to Robert Ross, critic of contemporary New York election law, at Oakwood Cemetery in Troy, New York, United States. The monument was raised in 1894.

Managed to find the momument on Wikipedia with a daytime photograph taken in the fall here.

Sprite in the Heineken Glass..

Sprite in the Heineken Glass..

Was testing out using just the lightmeter to achieve sufficient light for the photo. Tried not looking at any of the numbers. Also used Live View. Loving the D3100.

Realized from a recent contact that having a 3.5-5.6f lens isn't great for me.. And i now know what that means now haha. Did some research on 'faster' lenses!
