great place, but I was angered by 'locals' working at a motel there who 'acted' like they knew nothing about it when we inquired. It was like they wanted to keep it JUST for the locals.. either not very friendly or very 'uniformed' for people in the tourist/travel business !

There was an anti-tourist, anti-development contingent in Glen Rose that dominated local politics in the 70s and 80s. Many of those people have died and the new blood is more progressive. Glen Rose is no longer the closed society it was a generation ago.
