The Circus 8 / The Clown 3
Most of you here in Flickr know me well 'cause of my landscape photography, the fact is that in the real world (so to speak) I'm not only an editor but I keep on working on projects as a documentary photographer.
After many years I finally had the oportunity to start a feature which has been posponed many times, "The Circus".

The Circus 6
Most of you here in Flickr know me well 'cause of my landscape photography, the fact is that in the real world (so to speak) I'm not only an editor but I keep on working on projects as a documentary photographer.
After many years I finally had the oportunity to start a feature which has been posponed many times, "The Circus".
Hope you like it , enjoy.
PD: As I mentioned in this series, "The Circus" feature was started 25 years ago I first started it in Hamburg, Germany unfortunately at that time I was in full bussines working as journalist and travelling a lot, one thing led to another and the idea just stayed there as an idea. I moved to Spain 5 years ago coming from S. America where I had been posted for the las 12 years and landed in this wonderful island which is Mallorca.
Originaly the idea with this feature was completly different but I bumped myself into a problem circus people are very closed to outsiders, if you add on top of it that they've had bad experiences in the past whith people taking there pictures and posting them on the web whith god knows what stories completly out of context with what they are as circus actors, it actually took me 3 weeks to get to them and to let me in into there lifes. I've been following them around all the island and right now I'm just one more of them they dont even pay me any attention when I take there pictures, this is from my humble point of view the best moment where the candid images pop out.
The images of the series are emulating Kodak plus X film with the variant that to get to the B&W results I actually give it two passes in B&W in CS4, the toning is a very light yellow called "coffee light" in Silver Effex pro plug in.
Images are taken with fill flash or with out it depending on the situation, and all I do is just walk around the circus with free accsess to every corner of it, before, during or after the show. I must add that to get to these marvelous people and there lifestyles I gave out a lot of pictures as present. Thxs for looking in.
