Swan in Fog

Today was a magical day for photography in England - very foggy. This shot was taken @ ~9:30 am, along the Thames. Shifted this to bandw and pushed contrast marginally - nothing else (that's the way the sky was).

'Swan in Fog' On Black (Thanks Greg for the suggestion!)

Checking this out on black really defines the upper portion of the picture
and makes the trio of swans stand out more. ~ Great shot !

The swan isn't bright enough to make it a perfect picture. Especially the head is a bit dark.
    But it's close

There's been a run of better-than-usual swan shots on flickr lately and this one stands out. I think it's the way you've included so much background for us to enjoy while at the same time making the swan the brightest attraction to hold our attention. His two mates - tiny as they are - also leap out. A very well composed and thoroughly enjoyable photo all round. Top job.

i especially like the b&w tones in this tone, the bright white of the swan really stands out against the dark water. and of course, the fog gives a great sense of surrealness to the scene.

whereabouts on the thames is this by the way? looks like a really nice place :)

I really like it on the black background, and the trees are just beautiful, well done!

Very lovely landscape. The reflection in the water looks really great, also the fog on the shore. Yet, to me it seems like those swans have been placed in the photo only after. I might be wrong, though.
