"MILES AND JESS"
(6' x 8', spray paint on wood)
For PRSC, going up in the Bear Pit in Broadmead, Bristol.
My two favorite small people in the world. The prospect of painting family portraits terrifies me, but then there's nothing quite like facing your fears head on. And the kids love it, which is the main thing.

LIFE, THE UNIVERSE AND EVERYTHING
(St.Werburghs Artists' Billboard, Bristol, December 2011)
My aim for last year was to switch things up with each piece I painted, to push myself and explore new techniques and ideas; so I decided to end the year by attempting something a bit different for me again. Painting stars 25 foot up a ladder in the dark, while the real ones were shining down overhead was a unique experience.
Since my local community is probably the most culturally and religiously-diverse in Bristol, it seemed appropriate that my piece mark the turning of the Solar Year in a universally inclusive way.
I love Werburghs, and the enthusiasm of the people that stopped to talk to me about the subject matter (during what was a bastard of a month to paint) kept me going, and my heart warm, even if nothing else was!

JODY/FLX
From Upfest, back in the summer.
Me on letter-duties for a change, really enjoyed painting this with Jody, a very talented chap. Oh, and background by Boswell. Don't go near the house on the hill!
