Northern Pintail
This handsome Northern Pintail and his mate visited our lake right after Christmas during an unusually warm spell. His mate caught sight of me and, being quite shy, she flew further out into the lake but he stayed just off the docks, content to be my model.
I have been told it was time to start uploading photos again so here goes...

This Year's Datura - "Ballerina Purple"
Finally blooming - but that is my fault because I left it in the pot that I bought it in for some time while waiting to get dirt work done in what was to be a new flower bed. Now it is covered in buds, many more than I deserve!
But no preying mantis -- yet!
