From a medical point of view, Love is a parasite infestation of the heart that leads to further complications.

It starts with butterflies migrating to the stomach that carry the eggs of the parasite. The carriers are immune to their freeriders, but once the colony has settled, the culprit hatches and moves on.

In the first stage, it passes into the blood, travels to the heart and attaches to the muscle. Here it slightly alters the rate and rhythm of contractions, but also begins to mutate.

In the second stage, the evolved parasite produces a neurotoxin, which it releases into the bloodstream. This passes through the Brain Blood Barrier and causes a disease similar to the sleeping sickness. Symptoms include confusion, even hallucinations, reduced coordination and disruption of the sleep cycle.

The symptoms can be treated with moderate success, but no cure is currently known for the disease. Butterfly repellents are recommended in prevention.
