Sun In Haze From Mountain Fire

Due to the forest fire in San Francisco Bay Area, the smoke in the sky made the sun look more gentle.
Out of camera shot , only added flood.

@Danny, the sky color is due to the contrast with the sun, it was not as gray or black, the smoke is up in the air, so they didn't issue air advisory day.

      wow, what a perfect circle.
sometimes i wish the Sun was a square - I mean a cube.

i think i like the "5 minute earlier" shot better, but the one covered in smoke is unusual.

Yes, haze and fires can make for good sunsets though
I actually like the 2nd one better, the orange one
The 'flood' added, was that the mirrored portion or reflection.

I was so hoping you'd do that, Sean. Fantastic image - the sun has been up for almost two hours now and it's still red. By the way, the smoke that is affecting us is not from the Mt. Hamilton fire but from a 15,000 acre fire in Susanville .

I can vouch for the sun color this morning. I awoke to the same color, along with ash on my car from the fire. So far, the blaze is 25 percent contained and has burned approximately 18,905 acres. Officials expect the fire to burn 30,000 acres before it is completely contained.
