Hi, I'm an admin for a group called *The North Korean Paradise*, and we'd love to have this added to the group!

Interesting to see a hotel room in the Koryo hotel. We stayed on the 43rd flloor in the Yanggakdo hotel. Did you have BBC news there?

@Specialesumpen: I don't remember, if we had BBC. Sorry. We turned on the TV for a minute and flipped through the channels, but I forgot if there was BBC. I would recommend the Koryo over the Yanggakdo, as it is more central and has the - what I would think - more interesting guests. Mostly businessmen, diplomats, etc. Less touristy ;-)

We never really got the choice, we had to stay at the Yanggakdo. Perhaps they were extra aware of keeping all the tourists in one place right before the 60th anniversary of the DPRK.
We were able to see BBC's coverage of the events and the speculations about Kim Jong Il's health. It was very odd being there while all this was going on.

I cannot help but to believe that hotels must certainly be bugged, with paranoid leadership that decides everything the little tyrant couldn't stand it if he didn't know what guest's to his country are saying in private...

but despite of all the odd, I am interested in visiting North Korea... Is it possible to get there by commercial airlines from another country beside North Korea?
