Decided against using this as my Project 365 shot because, uh, I don't want to put it in a book and look at it years from now? Or something. Because it isnt'r really a photograph per se - I mean it is, but. Anyway. For the hell of it, here are my teeth. The ones on the lower right (facing us. Under the yellow bug thing) are the ones that hurt. However, the dentist is so far stumped as to why. Maybe it will just go away.

I can see your uvula! did you have teeth pulled? did you have orthodontics? I have had crazy teeth pain related to sinus congestion in recent years. The bottom teeth hurt when my sinuses are congested and my dentist thinks that's strange. sometimes not even much congestion causes it.

Yeah, I had 4 teeth pulled as a teenager as a pre-op type thing for braces. Then the braces never happened. So I've just had the four holes in my mouth all these years. I think it's okay though because as you can see the other teeth have sort of moved around them and I guess if the holes weren't there it would have been a problem. Who knows? I was born without second teeth in a couple places - the ones that were pulled were baby teeth as are some of the ones I still have - & my teeth are bigger at the bottom than the top which is apparently weird and they have extra roots. Go figure. I am a space alien.

This is an awesome picture - the viceral dentisy response it causes.
I had an EXTRA set of second teeth show up in XRays - third teeth if you will. The dentists all were very excited to see something they had only read about in textbooks. Luckily, my little body reabsorbed the third set before they came in, otherwise I would have been looking at crazymad dental surgeries as a child.
Wierd.

Oh, we should keep this dental thread going as long as possible. One of my Xs has these really nice big teeth and a pretty smile. Her childhood dentist saw those wisdom teeth coming in over the horizon and thought it would be a good idea to remove the back molars so the wisdom teeth could just slide into place. Her adult dentists thought that was a pretty crazy move and hadn't heard of it being done before. Seems like there are all these crazy rogue dentists roaming around trying out things on us based on whim and theory. Anyway, the wisdom teeth did finally come in, but never really slid gently into place as the first dentist had hoped.
I am congenitally missing my wisdom teeth, and my brother has an extra set.
Same XGF mentioned above, her childhood best friend had a baby, and the baby had a blood pressure spike at the age of 6 months or something. They found the cause to be a big tumor in her abdomen, size of a grapefruit or something. And this tumor had grown from those special undetermined cells they call stem cells these days. This big tumor was developing all kinds of strange cells in it, including teeth. Yes, a tumor with teeth in it. After it was removed, the little girl was fine.
OK, next wierd dental/teeth story please.

Have you got a pierced nose ? Otherwise I'd start worrying about that opacity in the upper right sinus (left side on the x-ray).

Great. No, I don't have a pierced nose and I don't know what you're talking about, but I'll be sure to obsessively worry about it for the rest of my (no doubt tragically short) life.
