    A World War 1 Story, Part 3

    This is a training march over the Rimutaka Hill of troops preparing for deployment to Europe, probably in early 1916.

    Wally Parker has written on the back ' These are the photos taken of the 19th. Rinfts leaving the summit after dinner. Place them together and get them framed Mum'. The next photo in this sequence is the one that fits next to this.

      Interesting picture, it would be quite good to get a current photo from the same location for comparison, though finding the position might be quite difficult as the road cutting will have changed a lot.
