Mojo & Shinda
|
My Congo African Grey parrots Mojo & Shinda (hatched 29th May and 2nd June 2008) who I brought home on the 30th of August 2008! :-)
Bred by...

Mojo is a DNA sexed girl, Shinda a DNA sexed boy and they are from the same clutch.
We've been advised it's unlikely they will attempt to breed so long as I don't provide them with a nestbox (which I won't!) but if they do I will ensure no eggs hatch as this would of course be undesirable.
Mojo and Shinda have damage to their toes (their Dad chewed their feet while in the nestbox) so I've furnished the inside of their cage with special perching needs in mind.
Shinda has more severe damage to his feet than Mojo, Shinda has hardly any toe length at all on his left foot.
Mojo's feet are far less severely damaged and she is almost as agile as a 'normal' parrot.
I've furnished the cage with flat perching areas, rope perches, a java perch, a cargo net and traditional sandy perches.
Mojo and Shinda don't have their wings clipped, they are free to fly.
They are out of their cage for several hours a day.
They have the playtop on the cage in the living room. Then in the dining/computer room they have a separate large playstand, ropes on the ceiling, hanging toys plus a small playstand on the table and toys everywhere!
