We''re really fortunate to have the life that we have. We get to spend time outdoors with the animals and it's lovely most of the year here.

Karen, we built the henhouse on wheels. last summer.

Thanks Debbie, Peggy, Lisa, and Donna, it's really a great experience to see Maudie and the dogs working together.

Barb, Maudie lost her long-time companion Janie and when we got her the two goslings, she turned out to be a natural-born mom. She's one of the smartest, gentlest and most conscientious animals on the farm.

Thanks Terry, Kit, 3-Jollyboys, Tori, Marin, Marg, Danny, and Volar. The dogs and Maudie work around the clock, 365 days a year, and they seem to love what they do. We're lucky to know them and have them on the farm.

Fidget looks as if ready to take a nap...I mean brake. And Maudie
is ready to take over. So love the tones of this shot.
    Also love your hønsehus! :-)

Your henhouse is looking really great (actually this whole pic looks awesome). Let me guess, the henhouse is on wheels so that you may wheel it around your yard (plot) and use it as a source of nitrogen (sort of like what Joel Salatin does on his Polyface Farm)?

    Absolutely great.

Thanks, Lori, Alice, Jette, El Duke and Terry.

Alice and Jette, the painterly quality of this picture is caused partly by the Nikon's high-ISO chroma noise (ISO 640 in this case). It's a fundamental design defect, but sometimes you can make lemonade from lemons. :)

El Duke, spot-on! It's modeled on a Salatin house, though with a rigid metal roof frame to support nests and roosts to keep the floor clear.

What a happy scene Ken and Molly:-) That coop is excellent, looks like a gipsy wagon, I bet the hens are happy in there (but I suspect they want to get out). Love Maudie and the little babies!

This looks like it should be a surrealist painting! The way the animals are all placed so perfectly and in the same frame - what a lovely portrait of your happy clan.

That is a magnificent henhouse too!

    It's a engineering wonder!
    how's the hen house doing?
I'm worried about the wheels sinking in the mud, or is it light enough
