Hi everyone. Remember that maternity shoot I did? Well, little Emily popped out within 24 hours of the shoot and here she is! At least, here her tiny feet are. Hard to believe how small they are at this age - still, she holds a huge place in the happy parent's lives already and it's easy to see why. This is my first baby shoot and it was a bit challenging as I was just not really sure what kind of frames to shoot but I hope the parents like the pictures. Thanks again for letting me practice on you guys :)

It's been a tough week but I know things happen for a reason. I'm a proud person even though I may not be the loudest person on the planet. More than proving myself to others, it's about knowing that I am doing my part and doing it on my own. I guess there will always come a time when you're denied or rejected but there's no point in feeling dejected or down on yourself. It's just best to pick yourself up, move on and prove them wrong. And I will do just that.

While I'm glad it's Friday, I almost kind of want to just sit still right about now. It's been one of those days. Goes to show you that you should never put too much hope into any one thing.

Anyway, HFF everyone.

First off, thank you all for the unreal comments on the maternity photos on my last posting. It meant a lot as it was my first session and if I had to be honest, it felt really awkward doing it to begin with. But I am glad that you enjoyed it. I may be doing their baby photos as well when things quiet down for them so you may be seeing some of those photos soon.

Hope you all have had a great weekend so far. It's already the end and we have another Monday to contend with tomorrow. Best of luck to you all lol. It's a constant battle I tell you.

Big week this week for me too. I'm hoping it works out.

So as I said on my previous post, I recently had a maternity shoot that I did for a former coworker of mine and his wife. This was my first formal shoot ever so it was a little strange getting into the groove at first but at the end of the day it worked out well. The couple were great and so easy to work with - it made the shoot a lot of fun. I was practically ecstatic just to get home and start working away. The funny thing was that the soon to be mum had finally thought that she had accomplished all that she wanted to do after the baby shower and the photos and was ready to have the baby. Sure enough, it happened that same evening of the shoot. You talk about perfect timing :)

Have any of you been in this predicament before? You're already late for work because you pressed on the snooze button one too many times and then before you know it, you're running behind. Then as you are driving to work, you pass by a neighborhood park and see that the light is just perfect... Then, bam! You're making a u-turn and snapping photos for the next 20 minutes and going to work not even feeling bad about the decision at all? Yup, that was me last week. Don't lie, I know some of you are like that too!

So I just got back from my first ever maternity photo shoot. One of them is a former coworker of mine so we got a chance to take some photos with the very happy, soon to be parents. Must say, I'm glad they were such good sports. I was clearly a newbie at this and directing shots is always kind of interesting the first go around but it was very fun. The sun came out at the perfect time too. I'll be working on these pictures for the next week and a bit I think but I will try to get some previews up in the mean time! ;) Have a great week everyone!
