Swarm cell, reabsorbed

Swarm cell, reabsorbed by chantal foster.
Last week, this was a bonafide swarm cell filled with a fat larva. Swarm cells aren't a good thing, so we mixed some empty top bars into the brood nest hoping to convince the girls it was spacious enough not to swarm.

It worked.

When we opened the hive today, this swarm cell (shown upside down in this photo) was empty and had been mostly dismantled.

From a June hive inspection with The Józef.
