Hammerhead Santa---Priceless

Our floor is slick at work, and my middle name is "Grace". Made quite a ruckus and knocked this hole in the wall (with my head) about a foot off the floor, after my upper back hit the floor. I have a hard head. :) Upper back is kinda sore.

solemn occasion by thepeepmeister

solemn occasion

It was a year ago today that we had services and burial for my mother...I was fortunate to have had my mother for 50 years of my life...She was 92 with Alzheimers, when she passed after a long five years in nursing care. Mom was tired and it was time for her to meet up with my dad and my brother who had gone before her.
Today would have been like any other day that I miss her, except for one more loss. My former work friend, Linda, left this world at the age of 50, last Sunday. She has two beautiful young women for daughters who will miss their mother dreadfully, as they are barely grownups. Their mother will miss their weddings, babies, dinners, birthdays, and their tears. Many of the conversations I was blessed to have had with my mom, they will have with aunts, and friends of their mom's.
Linda died from a breast cancer of a most virulent type...while she was not saved by early detection, we as women all know friends and family members who have been given more life from a mammogram.
I for one, am horrified by the recent "findings" espoused about our health, and the numbers they SAY, prove it is NOT worth it to do mammograms on woman under 50.
Let's storm the mammogram clinics and demand they squeeze 'em, because losing one more sister, aunt, mother, cousin, or friend, is not acceptable.

These are roses from my mother's memorial and I dedicate them to Linda Sue Faulkenberg.
