Stars and Stripes

I usually think fireworks are a sad glorification of war, but they sure make pretty photos.

These were shot off in a park on Leland by some neighbors. They obviously went to great lengths (and expense) to put on a good show. Mary and I (and Luka) were so close to the bursts that we could feel the three-dimensionality of the streaks of colored fire. The "shooting stars" that were coming at us really felt like they were coming at us!
