Chinese Whispers (1st attempt)
This is a piece that I made during my residency but I won't be showing at my open studio as it's been superceded.
I have selected characters which, to me, resemble faces. Some are real, and others are transitionary, invented characters that form a metamorphosis from one real character to the next. The first character, 'to speak in a whisper'.
The second real one means to confuse, baffle or doubt, 3rd is thought, expectation, hint, intentions, meaning, suggestion, 4th learn, familiarise, follow, repeat, 5th understand, comprehend, realise, 6th, draw, sketch paint (which is exactly the same as the previous character but with the character for silk next to it as early paintings were made on silk. And then back to whisper again...
