Thanks to everyone for their fab comments! This really is my most popular photo, which I find very strange. I see it now, but when I took it I certainly didn't think it was a very good one, and when I uploaded it half a year later I still hadn't taken a proper "look" at it. But I do now, and it's on my wall, in rasturbation form.

Thanks. No, actually I don't groom him often because he sheds his hairs all over our bloody house. Every few minths I give him a good stripping, though.

dog. muzzle. camera rotated 4 degrees to the left. nice colours, nice texture. i like this photo, but why is it squint? hesitating... but no! the rules of the game say excellent is not good enough in this group. and i'm not so sure this is excellent - a great snap, yes, but - no.

these kind of compositions with an object on the foreground a landscape behind make interesting compositions but here, its uneffective.
the dog has nothing to do here and the background sucks a little. the colors are fine but...

I don't like the halo around the dog's face. It lookes enhanced somehow, and I'm not sure I like the enhancement, if its there. But no large size so I can really look.
